Router

The router is an important element of the Internet connection. It enables the connection of the servers to the Internet. We have chosen equipment from CISCO and ExtremeNetworks.

Internet Provider

4D NET Center has its own autonomous system (AS 16357) which enables it to support independent connections with several Internet carriers.

We are connected to two carriers (Green.ch and VTX.ch) with two leased lines. The bandwidth we lease is reserved for us across the entire international backbone of the providers, which is never overbooked. Therefore, we have the benefit of our full capacity round the clock. The quality of our leased lines cannot be compared to other "high-speed" Internet connections such as ADSL, city DSL, etc. where the available bandwidth is not guaranteed:

Optimized and failure tolerant traffic

The maximum capacity of our leased lines is 2 x 100 megabit/second.

4D NET Center is connected to two independent providers. The router, BGP4 aware, routes the traffic through the shortest connection. If a leased line or a provider fail, the traffic is automatically routed to the remaining connection.

Guaranteed bandwidth

All the servers are connected to our main router. This router is equipped with a quality of service (QOS) system that allows us to maintain a minimum bandwidth for each subnetwork formed by one or several computers.

Every computer benefits from all available bandwidth and never receives less than its allocated and guaranteed bandwidth. This system makes it impossible for one server to monopolize all of the bandwidth.

4D NET Center leases a bandwidth at least equal to the sum of all allocated and guaranteed bandwidth for each server.

The system of the guaranteed bandwidth is an important element of our pricing. It is a transparent and reliable system.

DNS Server

4D NET Center has its own primary and secondary DNS servers, placed on two different networks.

We can host all the domains and subdomain for hosted servers. Of course, you are free to use your own DNS server.

Monitoring

4D NET Center monitors all of their installation and servers 24 h a day and 7 days a week.

Firewall

4D Net Center sets up a system of filtering and protection by an individual Firewall making it possible to be able to create its own rules of filterings.

Administrators can configure firewall settings for their machines directly.
